Reaction of the plastics sector to the demonstrations of the Regional Ministry for the Natural Environment

In view of the news of "The Government will prohibit the sale of plastic glasses and plates from 2020" collected in previous weeks, the reactions from the plastic sector has not been delayed.

The renunciation or banning of plastics is not considered to be an effective or simple solution to the waste left in the environment and would also oblige society to renounce all its advantages.

Although this is a draft, and there are headlines that mention a ban, the reality is that "biomaterials are urged to be included in the manufacture of single-use applications by 50% in 2020 and 60% in 2025".

This solution is not validated by any analysis that guarantees a lower environmental impact, increasing and hindering the problems when recycling and treating its use.

The sector "fully supports initiatives that favour the plastic recycling chain".
